I was kinda getting tired of manually moving my keyboard and screen from one server to the other to check stuff, so yesterday I decided to build my own KVM switch. Most of the times I’m not typing from the actual systems, but use Putty to connect remotely from my PC, instead. However, when I do have to use the server-side keyboard and screen, it’s a pain in the ass to move the cables from one server to the other, awfully annoying and extremely time consuming. Kitchen madness

You may be used to seeing dishes and frying pans, when entering a normal kitchen. Well, that makes me feel the need to explain why you will see THIS, when entering my kitchen:

It all started about 6 years ago, when I upgraded my computer, basically by getting a new one. I obviously wasn’t going to give away a perfectly working piece of technology, and it immediately came into my mind: this was going to be my first server. As I was (and still am) a passionate Counter Strike player, I decided that it was going to be my very first Counter Strike server. It was also my first encounter with the Linux operating system.
